Having arisen from the realms of Germany’s metal scene, Xandria is a band that has held the symphonic metal flag soaring high against all turmoils, for about two decades. Recently, Xandria fans warmly welcomed a new member into the band. Dianne van Giersbergen, who has now taken charge of vocals, has been and remains to be the frontwoman of the Dutch band, Ex Libris. Her personality, charisma and charm only adorns her breathtaking singing and vocal styles. No wonder that her band affectionately calls her their “Dutchess”. Xandria recently released their sixth studio album titled “Sacrificium” , won the hearts not only of Xandria die-hard fans, but also the hearts of Ex Libris fans who had come to explore Xandria after Dianne joined in. Apart from fronting two different bands and working on several other projects, Dianne also happens to be a vocal coach.
Gearing up for their debut gig in India, Metal Wani’s Editor In Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi had a chat with vocalist Dianne van Giersbergen. She discussed debut appearance at BITS Pilani, update on upcoming new album, her lyrical approach, food, her personal journey and much more.
