My journey today involves an extremely seasoned, near two-decade-old band mastered in the art of symphonic metal. Selling millions worth copies of records worldwide including the greats of ‘Once’, ‘Wishmaster’, and ‘Century Child’, formed way back in the mid-90’s by lead songwriter and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen, guitarist Emppu Vuorinen, followed by drummer and bassist Jukka Nevalainen & Marco Hietala respectively. The band in question is none other than Nightwish with their latest edition: Endless Forms Most Beautiful. The album is written in a pattern that followed in sequence is far more surpassing as compared to ad-hoc. It follows a representation of a story-telling just like any of their older work however, I credit the artists here for taking their time on every song and not just rushing it out. It sounds and feels very systematic and progressive which by itself does justice to a symphony oriented record simply because it rewards the listener an orchestrated recital which is pure nectar to the ears.
Gearing up for the US tour with Delain & Sabaton, Metal Nation Radio Host & Metal Wani’s Editor In Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi had a chat with Floor Jansen. She discusses new album “Endless Forms Most Beautiful”, songwriting, her majestic vocals, working with Tuomas and the gang, her opinion on “female fronted” symphonic metal tag, upcoming tour and much more.
