Last October, Sonata Arctica released a re-recorded version of their debut album ‘Ecliptica’, which came out 16 years ago. Now they are on ‘Ecliptica over Europe Tour 2015’, and according to their website, this year will see Sonata Arctica perform over 100 shows, all over the world. I had an opportunity to see them last Friday in sold out gig in O2 Islington Academy in London.
After finishing the album, Sonata Arctica left the stage, just to be back few minutes later. They played “forgotten” earlier “Mary-Lou” from Ecliptica. Tony also thanked all the fans for their support of the live music. The last two songs that night were“The Wolves Die Young” from the last album and my favour song of the night “Don’t Say a Word” –highly energetic anthem that made the public jumping to its tunes. Ah, there was also the Vodka song.
