Started in 1991 and being one of the fastest and chaotic bands in the death metal scene, Kataklysm has led a steady yet brutal path of archaic carnage through their 24 years of existence. Lineup changes in 1998 reconstructed the DNA of the band, resulting in a change in their sound by minimally mellowing the chaos and adding thrash metal elements. And so has been the groups sound since ‘Victims of This Fallen World’. Two years post their last studio release, the “Northern Hyperblasters” are back with their latest album ‘Of Ghosts and Gods’. ‘Of Ghosts and Gods’ is an elemental outlook on good vs. evil. Not only does it offer a superior death metal experience, but also one of the most meaningfully written ones as well.
Metal Wani’s Editor In Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi and writer Akshay Sharma had a chat with founding member JF Dagenais. He discusses new album, musical direction, concept of the album, riffs, melodies, death metal scene, upcoming tours and more.
