In 2014, Sweden’s power house of power metal, Sabaton, celebrated their 15th anniversary as a band with the release of their seventh full length album Heroes. The band went on a world tour for next 2 years, celebrated by creating their own metal festival Sabaton Open Air, released a new Live DVD and are now gearing up for a new album. While Sabaton can’t seem to escape the constant joking about Joakim Broden and his love for tanks, this band undeniably makes music to be taken seriously. With Sabaton self-describing themselves as “always aiming to be a band that people love to see live, for the simple reason we love to play live”, Sabaton’s ‘Heroes on Tour’ DVD is a cathartic exploration into some of the band’s biggest performances to date. Not content with only providing footage of one performance, the band has created a double DVD that has footage which covers the band’s performances at Wacken Open Air Festival, and Sabaton Open Air festival during 2015.
Currently working on a new album, Metal Wani’s Editor In Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi had a chat with SABATON frontman Joakim Broden. He discusses new DVD “Heroes On Tour”, playing at Wacken Open Air & Sabaton Open Air & why they love to play for fans. Joakim also throws light on upcoming SABATON album which is already written and are heading to studio in couple of weeks to record the album. Joakim throws light on the musical direction, vocals, release date and much more.
