NARVIK was founded in 2006 by Lupus, Redeemer and P. In Freiburg – at that time with another name. The name ‘Narvik’ was choosen in 2007 as a direct reaction of the death of musician Robert Burâs (MADRUGADA), who was from the Norwegian town Narvik. He was one the most important sources of inspiration for every single band member. NARVIK are following the chosen path on their new and second album “Ascension to Apotheosis”. The Southern Germans once more offers a Black Metal mixture you can’t elude from. Impervious dark balanced disharmonic and wellplaced leads are challenging the listener again and again. “Ascension to Apotheosis” is not made for a single listen but takes you more and more in the dark depths of the three members every time you play the album.
Topically, NARVIK fittingly deal with transformation and transcendence through death in their lyrics, with apotheosis and the several ways of the Left Hand Path.
