There are a lot of supergroups out there; so much so that it has become almost trendy. Amongst all the hype, certain ensembles just grab your attention, especially when their performance, skill and production is ridiculously good and polished. And so, we have the much-awaited collaborative effort from axeman supreme and master producer Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage fame. Contributing to vocal duties is none other than George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher of Cannibal Corpse, and Shannon Lucas, who played with Black Dahlia Murder in the past.
Metal Wani’s Editor In Chief Owais ‘Vitek’ Nabi had a chat with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and SERPENTINE DOMINION founding member Adam D. He discusses why the album took 7 years in the making, how George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fischer was supposed to write lyrics but was facing the writers block, having Jesse Leach of Killswitch Engage write lyrics for the album, why he spent a lot time on ‘sonic’ element and whether he is satisfied with the final product.
He also talks about working with Corpsegrinder and Shannon Lucas, having multiple vocal layers on the album with both Adam and George, why he didnt prefer any guests on the album & possibility of having another album in the future. He also throws light on writing a faster, aggressive album as compared to normal KILLSWITCH ENGAGE sound, why his love for Death metal made this album easier to compose, possibility of playing live soon with the complete lineup with an additional guitarist and bass player.
